About the Company
TechOpX is partnering with a venture-backed technology company building an AI-native operating platform for multi-unit restaurant brands.
The platform helps restaurant operators forecast demand, manage inventory, and optimize purchasing decisions using operational data from distributors, suppliers, and restaurant systems.
The founding team brings deep experience across restaurant operations, supply chain, product, and engineering, with a proven track record of building and scaling technology platforms in high-growth environments. The company is early-stage, well-funded, and focused on building the core systems that will power the next generation of restaurant operations technology.
The Role
We are hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help build the core product experience and application architecture behind the platform.
You will work closely with the CTO and founding engineering team to design and ship product features that transform complex operational and supply chain data into intuitive tools for restaurant operators.
Because the company is still early-stage, engineers operate with high ownership and autonomy. You will have meaningful influence over both product decisions and the architecture that supports them.
This role is highly hands-on and involves building features end-to-end, from frontend interfaces to backend services and integrations.
Why This Role Is Interesting
The features you build will directly impact how restaurant operators plan purchasing, manage inventory, and optimize their supply chain.
You’ll work closely with the founding team to translate complex operational problems into intuitive product experiences used by real operators every day.
This is an opportunity to help build a foundational product platform from the ground up, not maintain an existing enterprise system.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build product features end-to-end, from architecture through deployment
- Develop responsive, intuitive user interfaces that make complex operational data actionable
- Build scalable backend services and APIs that power product functionality
- Collaborate closely with founders, engineers, and customers to shape product direction
- Contribute to architectural decisions that support long-term platform scalability
- Maintain and expand automated testing to ensure product reliability
- Participate in code reviews and help maintain high engineering standards
- Work in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities evolve as the product grows
Requirements
- 3–6 years of full stack software development experience, ideally in startup or high-growth environments
- Strong proficiency with React, TypeScript, and modern frontend development
- Experience building applications using Next.js or similar full-stack frameworks
- Experience managing server state in React using tools such as TanStack Query / React Query, SWR, or Apollo
- Track record of shipping production software with real user impact
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering and product teams
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving startup environments with high ownership
- Ability to work in-person in NYC three days per week
Location & Work Authorization
- Must live in the New York City metro area
- Must be able to work onsite three days per week
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Visa sponsorship is not available
Nice to Have
- Experience working on AI-driven or data-heavy products
- Experience building B2B SaaS applications
- Experience with Python-based backend services
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP)
- Experience working in early-stage startup environments
What Success Looks Like in 12 Months
- Key product features shipped that are actively used by restaurant operators
- Intuitive interfaces that simplify complex supply chain and operational workflows
- Reliable backend services supporting product growth and customer onboarding
- Strong collaboration across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams
- Meaningful contributions to the architecture of the platform as it scales
Who Thrives in This Role
This role tends to work best for engineers who:
- Have worked at early or growth-stage startups
- Enjoy high ownership and autonomy
- Like shipping product quickly and iterating based on user feedback
- Are comfortable working across frontend and backend systems
- Prefer building products from the ground up rather than maintaining mature enterprise systems
What’s Offered
- Meaningful equity as an early team member
- Competitive salary
- A small, focused engineering team where your work has immediate impact
- The opportunity to build foundational product technology that will scale with the company
